Privacy policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy explains what the Nice to pee app collects, why, and how you can delete it. Nice to pee is run by Vasilis Giotsas ("we"), who is the data controller. Write to vasilis.giotsas@mailmasker.com with any question.
Without an account
You can open the map, search and read reviews without signing in. We store nothing about you in that case. Your phone sends your location to our server only as a search point to find places near you, and we do not save it.
What we collect when you sign in
- Account: your email address, the sign-in method you used (Apple, Google or email link) and a display name. We take only your first name from Apple or Google, and you can change it in Profile.
- "I'm a woman": an optional setting, off by default. Only you can see it. We use it to count your ratings toward the women's score, and we never show it next to your name or your reviews.
- Ratings and reviews: your scores, checklist answers, review text and the date. Other people see your review text, scores and first name. Nobody else sees your individual checklist answers or which ratings came from women.
- Photos: entrance photos you choose to add. A moderator checks each one before it appears.
- Places you add, places you save and reports you send.
We do not collect your contacts, track you across other apps or websites, or record your location history.
Why we use it
- To run the app: show scores, keep your saved places and let you edit your ratings. The legal basis is our contract with you (the terms of use).
- To keep the content trustworthy: block abuse, review reports and stop one person rating a place many times. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a reliable, safe service.
- To count your ratings toward the women's score, only if you turn on "I'm a woman". The legal basis is your consent, and you can turn it off at any time in Profile.
We do not show ads and we do not sell or rent your data.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose them. They tell us your email and name, and their own privacy policies apply.
- Apple Maps (iOS) and Google Maps (Android) draw the map and give walking directions. Your phone talks to them directly under their own policies.
Some of these companies may store data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. We keep reports for as long as we need them to moderate the content they concern.
Deleting your account
Open Profile > Delete account in the app. We then delete your account, your profile, your saved places, your "I'm a woman" setting and the photos you uploaded. We keep your ratings and review text without your name or any link to you, so place scores stay accurate. If you want your reviews removed as well, email us before you delete your account.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email us and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you think a child under 16 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
